Cindy Segura "that's Little Miss Cindy Pants to you!"
Born in Los Angeles California. Cindy was first influenced into the art world by her Guatemalan Parents who dabbled in the arts of music and fashion design, as well as the graffiti and street art around her long time neighborhood of south central L.A. In high school she took all available art classes and realized that art seemed only available to a privileged few. With family and friends encouraging her imaginative spirit and her abilities in visual story telling, she went to art school and directed her talent and abilities to a more centralized goal. In 2005 she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Media Arts and Animation, with a focus on motion graphics, and design from the Art Institute of California.
Once discovering the low brow art scene in L.A. she later got involved with the cannibal flower art show where her name little miss cindy pants was founded, she has since shown art with gettogloss and the verdugo art show.
Her biggest influences are Ralph Steadman, Jackson Pollock and Jean-Michel Basquiat, for their freedom in making a controlled and chaotic mess, Frida kahlo, Sas Christian and Mark Ryden for their sub conscience non literal visual narratives. Segura continues collaborations with street artist, splashing paint onto canvases and continues telling visual stories from her experience as a queer womyn of color, Yet she always makes time to make some yerba matè and listen to some nice avant-jazz metal with her cat minu.
